Fast and furious is the name of the game when Supermoto racing returns to Newcastle this September 2 & 3.
Headlining the weekend is the inaugural FIM Oceania Supermoto Championship. Not only will the best riders from Australia and New Zealand vie for the title, competitors from USA, Europe and Asia are making the trek down under to be the first FIM Oceania Supermoto Chambon. With riders including WSBK champ Troy Bayliss, World Supermoto champ Boris Chambon, current AMA Pro Open Supermoto champ Gage McAllister in attendance the local legends will have their work cut out for them.
The Newcastle Showground is the venue for this year’s competition. The course is a challenging combination of speedway track, road circuit and a purpose-built dirt section that will test man and machine and will make for exhilarating racing.
A packed program of racing on Saturday will continue into the Saturday night, with Vintage, Classic and Custom motorcycle displays at Wheeler Place. Sundays race program is jam packed and includes the Race of Champions and Postie racing.
